v2 Neater way to implement the THR deadband
v1 Original version

Description
===========

Here's the Taranis program I came up with for the Libelle DLG. Will be perfect for any full-house DLG.

The features are as follows :
- Spoken flight modes
- Launch mode is entered with the spring-return SF switch
- SE is the flight mode switch (Speed, Cruise, Float)
- Left stick (throttle) is the air brake, with a safety dead band near the top of the course.
- Braking is either with flaperon or spoileron, under control of the SB switch, and spoken on mode change.
- Voice alert "warning warning flaps are ON" if the air brake is engaged (throttle not in the dead band) and the spring return Launch mode is hit.
- Elevator compensation mix for spoileron and flaperon
- Fine camber adjustement with the Throttle trim, one per flight mode, adjustable while in flight
- Pot S2 is the volume
- Timer 1 is the flight time and auto resets when the Launch switch SF is held for 1,5 seconds or longer.
- Timer 2 records the "rx battery time" and runs as long as the radio & rx are in link.
- SH and SG will speak the timer 1 & 2, respectively.

The archive contains the program, the spoken Flight Mode WAV files to be placed in a subdirectory named "Sound/en/Libelle", and a few other wav files that need to be in the Sound/en directory. The BMP file needs to be in the /BMP directory.

In addition, the Custom Function CF8 can be optionnaly be enabled to set the aileron differential in flight with the S1 potentiometer. This feature could be useful for the initial tuning. Otherwise, the differential is a parameter set with the Global Variable 1.

The program does not implement dual rates nor exponential. It could be easily added to the taste of the pilot.

To do:
- Servo adjustments (centering, maximum throw)
- Flaperon & Spoileron/Elevator compensation adjustements
- Camber adjustements

I haven't tested the program on a real airframe as I haven't received it yet.

Thanks, Fabian. I will try again. Most likely something I did wrong.

This setting is already for mode 2 (flaps is on the left stick).

FabFlight, thanks for sharing the Libelle configuration file. I use Mode 2 and I wonder how difficult or what I need to do in order to use this file? I am new to Taranis and I am not sure how to make those changes.

Regards,
Daniel

Hi FabFlight,
Just wondering if there is a new 55 or higher of this program? I am having a couple problems with it as downloaded so thought I would see if there was an update before I started trouble shooting.
Thx
Chad

I've migrated to OpenTx 2.x juste this week. I could send you my latest Libelle program but it's considerably different than this one now. My THR joystick now auto-centers and flapperon/spoil eron are now on the throttle stick un the up/down travelling. PM me (FabFlight) on rcgroup.com if interrested.

Scott,
The flaps/spoilerons mix were right but the servos directions were incorrect. Fixed in v4. Thanks. Still haven't flown it, I'm waiting for some parts...

Awesome, I didn't try and figure out root cause, just wanted to report the problem. I'll try v4 for fun!

Great Start!
The setup is not perfect, with the way the servos are mechanically setup the flaps/spoileron is reversed. Also you need to invert a servo to make this work.

I am modifying your setup as it is a GREAT start! I think that is the best part of this site. A Good starting point. Thanks for your work

Thanks Scott for yours. I've just received my airframe so I'll be able fix issues and update the setup. I know that there is a bug with the CS5 where it should compare 42 with RSSI instead of RS. Version 5 and up will be fixed.

Have a look at my Altitude limiter setup too, pretty useful. http://rcsettings.com/index.php/viewdownload/3-fixed-wing/87-altitude-limiter-like-a-cam
